Maeve Bayles

Maeve Bayles

Communications Lead

Maeve has 17 years’ experience in Marketing & Communications. Her love of language started early: aged 6, she would proofread cereal packaging at the breakfast table in Dublin and post withering letters to CEOs pointing out their spelling and grammar mistakes.

Sometimes they responded and one offered Maeve a job when she grew up!

This passion for languages led to Maeve gaining a first class honours in French and Linguistics at UCD, with an Erasmus year at Université Jean Moulin in Lyon where she met her husband. Upon graduation, Maeve did a summer internship at the United Nations in Geneva before completing post-graduate studies at UCD Smurfit Business School.

She won a place on the Unilever graduate training programme in Marketing and spent 12 happy years with the company in international marketing roles. In 2016, Maeve’s lawyer husband was offered a role in Geneva. She jumped at the chance to raise a family in Switzerland and Andrew, Maeve and their daughter happily moved over. She has since had a second daughter, born in Geneva, who is now 3 years old.

Maeve is Business & Purpose Director at one of Europe’s leading communications agencies, based in Geneva city centre. She is passionate about the role businesses can and must play in building a better future. Her work has won several awards including the coveted 2021 Edie award for best sustainability communications, and she is regularly invited to contribute to panel and webinar discussions on sustainability and global public health.
