That time of the year again … the final IBN event for 2014 took place at an evening reception in Basel at Gasthof zum Goldenen Sternen. This was a follow up to the successful trade mission, which took place in June. Many thanks to the Enterprise Ireland team (Dusseldorf) – Orla, Jane and Eddie for all the effort involved in arranging this event.
The evening was opened by Marina Donohoe, Regional Director -Northern Europe & UK, Enterprise Ireland. She gave us a great update on the Trade mission and an insight into what EI is doing to support new businesses abroad.
Martin Burke, Ambassador of Ireland to Switzerland, gave an official update and passed the baton from Justin Dolan to our new team member Joanne King. He introduced Joanne who is already proving to be a great asset to our team.
Last of the “official” updates, I, Margaret Cronin, IBN Basel Chapter Lead gave an overview of what the IBN is all about and what we have been doing this year. It has been a busy year and always nice to end with a Christmas time event.
Two Irish companies presented on the evening. We had a return visit from Louella Morton (VP of International Sales & GM) of is a learning tool with a definite difference. Click on the link to find out more! She reinforced how the support from IE and the IBN really does help to open doors and starts now to bring some very tangible business results.
Kieran Conlon (VP Sales & Services, International) of Globalforce presented next, showing their unique strategic tool supporting global social recognition programs. A really impressive tool and well worth a further look. Check it out on the Globalforce webpage.
As Eddie Goodwin of Enterprise Ireland commented at the end of the evening. “I would think that everyone there spoke to everyone else at some stage of the evening so there were valuable introductions made. It’s always sign of a good event when people don’t want to leave!”
Looking forward to another great year next year! If any of you out there want to present or are interested in hosting an event then please let me, or anyone on the IBNS team know.
