A visit to Nestlé

A visit to Nestlé

23rd of April, 2015

50 members of the Irish Business Network in the company of Joanne King, Deputy Head of the Irish Mission in Switzerland, visited the Nestlé headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland. Imagine our surprise on arrival at Nestlé to see the Irish flag flying alongside the Swiss flag, very thoughtful.
We were welcomed by Bernard Paternot, General Manager of Z-EMENA, Nestle, who gave us a general introduction to this company, the largest company in its sector globally. Deirdre O’Donogue, Country Business Manager, Ireland and Jim Shorten, Nestlé Nutrition- Wyeth Nutrition flew in for the event from Ireland which was greatly appreciated by us all.
Deirdre Ryan our well known Irish high jumper, who was currently interning in Nestlé told the attentive audience about the Irish Government Origin Green initiative- Bord Bia’s sustainability initiative. This program is designed to help Ireland become a “world leader in high quality, sustainably produced food and drink” according to this organization.

Frederique Naulette, Human Resources Nestlé, spoke about the Alliance for youth initiative she is managing which hopes to help in the area of youth employment. This was followed by a visit of the 6th floor where we were able to see the 6,000 Nestlé products, visit the Digital Acceleration team and see how digital and social media is organized by a huge corporate entity.
We ended this fascinating visit with a cocktail reception and a dinner in a local restaurant in Vevey. Great event and great discussions. Our thanks to Nestlé and their people for a great visit.
