Geneva Guided Walk and Networking

We are delighted to invite you to join us for the first in-person event of the IBN Geneva Chapter.  

Are you: 

  • Interested in getting out for a walking tour to discover the secrets and surprises of Geneva, incl. quaint passageways, archaeological treasures and the Reformer’s wall?
  • Curious to learn how the three ‘R’ ‘s – Religion, Refugees and Rolex are intertwined and inextricably linked to the history of Geneva? 
  • Keen to learn more about the many international organisations that have called Geneva home?
  • Looking forward to reconnecting with people and meeting some fellow Irish and friends of Ireland?

Then join us for a fun and interesting event where we will discover a city that is known for its diversity, individuality and far-reaching importance through the centuries.

Our two part tour will start by taking us from the shores of Lake Léman to the heart of old Geneva, followed by an afternoon visit to the International Quarter, home to 38 international organisations as well as a secretariat established under a treaty, approximately 750 NGOs and the permanent representatives of 177 member states, including Ireland.

When:         Saturday 30 October 2021, 10.00-16.00 CET

                    12.00-14.00: Networking, lunch, tram to International Quarter

                    14:00-16:00: Discover the International Quarter

Meeting Point at 10:00: Brunswick Monument, Jardin des Alpes, Quai du Mont-Blanc, 1201 Geneva

COVID 19; To enjoy the pleasure of attending an event in-person and as required by the Federal Office of Public Health, all attendees must present a COVID certificate as well as an identity document upon arrival at the networking venue. Kindly note the IBN reserves the right to deny entry to any person(s) to this event if they fail to present this information.

Terms:  

Places are limited to a group of 25 people. Bookings are taken on a first come first served basis and confirmed on receipt of payment of fees. Additional names will be added to a waiting list. Once places are confirmed, fees will only be reimbursed in case of cancellation if your place is filled by someone from the waiting list. Fees will not be reimbursed for any cancellations notified after 18.00 on Wednesday 27 October 2021.

Please note that the event will take place unless adverse weather conditions are announced, in which case you will be notified of the cancellation of this event.

The Irish Business Network Switzerland (IBN) is a network of professionals living and/or working in Switzerland who are Irish or have an affiliation with Ireland. Membership is free, and our members represent a diverse range of backgrounds, skills and experiences. We are actively supported by Enterprise Ireland, the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Eamon Hickey, Ambassador of Ireland to Switzerland.

The IBN is a registered non-profit association, managed by its members on a voluntary basis.
